Volcanic Islands                  

Objective:  Students will research an Volcanic Island Habitat and create a model of their Island.

Materials:  Plaster of Paris, heavy cardboard, paper mache materials, paint, artificial trees, shrubs, etc.

Procedure:

   1.  Students will choose an Volcanic Island.

   2.  Students will research their Island and answer provided questions regarding the Island.

            Size of Island

            Natural resources on the Island

            Bodies of water present on the Island

            Latitude and Longitude of the Island

            Animal and Plant Life on the Island

            Type of Volcano and it's Location on the Island

            Land Features of the Island

            Population and Major City Locations on the Island

   3.  Students will then create their Volcanic Island Habitat in a scaled Model
