SchoolNet Professional Development

The information below comes from the WVIZ SchoolNet Professional Development page and explains the basic information about the SchoolNet program. SchoolNet offers three levels of certification for technology training:

• NOVICE
• PRACTITIONER
• SCHOLAR

Ohio SchoolNet, SchoolNet Plus, and other technology initiatives represent an investment of several hundred million dollars that have been made in instructional technology over the past several years.

Historically, the textbook served as the de facto curriculum, and teachers were not concerned about designing instruction that accounted for learning specified concepts, providing technology tools and resources, and using appropriate assessments. With an increasing array of resources being introduced into classrooms--accompanied by high stakes testing and accountability--teachers have had to become strategic about instructional design and classroom practice.
