Joyce Alliance Teacher Lesson Plans

CMS believes that effective use of the Internet in the classroom positively affects teaching and learning. Middle school faculty from Cleveland Municipal Schools created the web lessons at this site. These faculty participated in the Savvy Cyber Teacher course, authored by The Center for Improved Engineering and Science Education at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey. Upon completion of that curriculum, each faculty participated in 30 hours of technology integration. In these workshops, faculty created quality collaborative web lessons with a strong Ohio proficiency outcome focus.

Internet in a one-computer classroom of middle school youngsters can be a challenge. The authors below believe that setting expectations is an important aspect of these learning experiences. For that reason, the links in the table provide suggestions for classroom rules, collaborative groups, teacher planning that promote effective, and successful web lessons.
