Sandra Kurtzig was born in Chicago in 1947. She was the daughter of a writer (mother) and a real-estate developer (father). The family moved to Los Angeles when she was eleven.
She earned a BA in chemistry and math at the University of California-Los Angeles; then a master's in aeronautical engineering at Stanford.
She worked in technical and marketing positions with General Electric and TRW until she decided to leave full-time employment to care for her sons.
Sandra Kurtzig started her own company writing software that created recipes for robots. She however swiftly graduated to programs for business. She later created minicomputer programs and information systems that help manufacturers improve the quality of products.
Mrs. Kurtzig's career began to flourish in the early 90's when her company in Atherton, California began to write programs for software. Recently, she has appeared on Good Morning America and has lectured in several places across the United States on continuing education and women taking charge of their lives.
